The force will be with you….especially if you are on this Cruise!
Day 1 – Embarkation Day
Embarkation starts with Captain Mickey showing up to start the “Sailing Away” party. Right before this you will have to do a lifeboat drill.
Got to meet Captain Mickey before dinner. He meets several times in this office.
Chip and Dale are sailors. How cute are they!
Our menu the first night. Every night you will change restaurants which they call rotational dining. The nice part is your server and wait staff moves with you.
Day 2 – At Sea
Today was our first full day at Sea. Had a great day and tonight was formal night.
If you have a chance I highly recommend that you make reservations at Palo as soon as your reservation window opens online because reservations tend to book up rather quickly. It is an adult-only (18+ confirm?) fixed-priced brunch, and has a buffet AND a menu. You better bring your appetite, because you are going to want to try everything this place has to offer.
This is the seafood table at Palo for brunch. The shrimp shooters are really good.
More food at Palo from the breakfast sweets. Make sure you try the cinnamon rolls they are the best sweet there.
Don’t forget to save room for dessert. My personal favorite are the chocolate covered strawberries.
On the deck outside of Palo. Great place for pictures. You do have to dress up to dine at Palo. The dress code is online.
They have classes on this cruise called tastings. They talk about where the drink came from and how they make them. This was a martini tasting that we did but there are other tasting as well. You will want to reserve a spot as these fill up quickly.
Another class they offer on the ship are Mixology. These classes you make one of the drink by yourself with the help from the bartenders. Everyone gets a chance to make a drink and these classes are so much fun. Plus you get to meet new people.
Mickey looking dapper for Formal Night. You only have one formal night on all cruises.
Come on now. Chip and dale are in tuxedos. This is the only place you will see them dressed up like this and only for one night.
Animator’s Palate is another one of restaurants you move to. These one is really fun because as you eat Crush comes around and talks to you. All the other characters from Finding Nemo also make an appearance.
Day 3 – At Sea
On deck 15 at the very top of the ship they have a miniature gold course. It can get very windy up here while at sea but also a lot of fun. This is a great family activity.
Ever want to be a detective? Well now you can at the Midship Detective Agency. In the middle of deck 2 and deck 5 you pick up a map, pencil, and badge and go around to the pictures designated on the map and find the puppies. You will also get clues to find out which Disney villain stole them. There is also a Muppet version that you can choose.
Day 4-St. Maaetrn
We were suppose to do an aerial explorer and the Flying Dutchman port adventure but it was too windy so instead we had to change adventures. We still went up to the top of the mountain. We just couldn’t go down on the zipline.
St. Maarten is such a nice place.
This was at the top of the mountain. It was very windy. However, we were able to walk around up there and then come back down the mountain on the chair lift.
This was the platform for the Flying Dutchman that we were suppose to do. When it gets windy there the lines move too much.
Chair lift that took you up and brought you back down. Even this moved a little with the wind.
At the top of the mountain you were able to get beautiful views of the island and the surrounding ones. No matter how windy it was it was still a great day and you were able to see really far.
It was time to get back on the ship and get ready for Pirate Night.
Dumbo is on the back of the Disney Fantasy with Timothy and are painting. Is he so cute.
Right before first seating there is a stage show out on the deck. Pirate Mickey and all of his friends come out in their outfits.
Pirate Minnie came out in costume.
So did Chip and Dale.
Stitch was also running around causing mischief.
Captain Hook and Mr. Smee also came out for pictures.
What would a pirate night be without Captain Jack Sparrow.
At night they have a show with Captain Jack Sparrow and the villian Blackbeard with his pirate crew.
Jack Sparrow about to get the night show started. You do get a special surprise which is…
Fireworks. From what I know of the Disney ships are the only ones that do a full fireworks show while out at sea. This is one amazing show with your favorite music from the movie.
Day 5 – St. Thomas
Ready for adventure! Time to start off our day in St. Thomas.
For our port adventure we did Kayak, Hike, and Snorkeling. Once again these are just one of the very many port adventures you can choose from. There are many more choices but we like to stay active.
First, we got to kayak around the mangroves and our guide told us some history about the mangroves as we went around them.
This was right before we docked at the beach for our hike. It was defintaly easier being in the front. Most of the kayaks were two seaters.
Once we got onto the beach we started our hike. Water shoes are a big help on this adventure. We were able to find some tide pools during our hike. I was able to find a spiny star and hold him.
At the end of our hike we ended at a blow hole. We were able to get some greats pictures here. After everyone got pictures we hiked back to the beach.
We got to the beach and got on our snorkel gear. There were so many animals and fish to see underwater. In this picture I was following Dory.
This is the “Imperial Takeover” the day before Star Wars Day at Sea. Cast members won’t give you much information on it, because it is supposed to be a surprise. It happens in the Lobby Atrium between first and second seating. If you want a decent spot I would get there at least 30 minutes before.
After Vader comes out and starts talking his Stromtoopers also come out and start walking around the crowd. They stay up on the balcony most of the time. Once you see these characters come out that can only mean one thing tomorrow is Star Wars Day at Sea
Day 6 – Star Wars Day at Sea!
This is best day on the cruise ship. There are many great characters interactions you get to participate him and there are always special activities to do around the ship including roaming characters.
We started our morning with the droids. C3P-O and R2-D2 was very friendly and talked to all of their friends.
Chewie was our next picture. He is one of my all time favorites.
Vader was also meeting in the back of the ship. He was looking for the jedis himself. He does talk to you a little.
Vam Wessell was wandering around looking for her next catch. She is one of the rare ones but roams around the decks inside the ship during the day.
Storm Troopers were everywhere and they were around all day. They talk to everyone but are more then obliged to stop and take pictures.
Even Boba Fett was roaming around. He was inside and outside. He slides down a rope a few times a day when the Strom Troopers get called back to base.
The Jawas were running around trading with everyone.
Can you find all the Porgs? Porgs have taken over the ship and Chewie needs help finding them. It is one of the best scavenger hunts on the ship. There is a map however, they are primarely on decks 2,3,4, and 5. One you find them all you get a surprise picture with Chewie as a group.
Mixology class again. We love this class.
Watching until it was his turn.
Even Jedis need ice cream. In this new shop on board they have ice cream, chocolates, and candy. It is a very fun atmosphere and the decor is from the old Mickey Mouse cartoons.
All of the outdoor grills had specials for Star Wars day. The pizza place had a death star pizza.
Tow Mater’s Grill was serving Darth Vader Bantha Burgers.
Just a glimpse of the special menu that night for appetizers. The whole menu had Star Wars inspired dishes.
This was the night stage show where all the characters come on at the end right before…
Fireworks again except this time you have an amazing show with a Star wars sound track.
This is the midnight buffet on Star Wars night. It is possibly one of the best buffets on the ship. They have all sorts of different things to try from tacos to desserts.
May the force be with you!
Day 7 – Castaway Cay
This is Disney’s private island that all cruises stop at. We love this stop on our cruises and it is so relaxing. You can do as much or at little as you want. The water is so clear and it is worth just to lay on the beach. They serve lunch on the island too.
Castaway Cay from our deck. I love the view from our deck as you can see everything.
This is the family beach where everyone is welcome but it can get busy and crowded at times.
I loved parasailing once I was up there. This is possilbley the best excursion on this island. You only go up once but it is so much fun.
He was having fun too.
The ship was so pretty from up there. You are able to get some great pictures of the ship from up here.
Mickey is out in his island attire.
Ok, too cute. Pluto has a life jacket on.
It is not a day on the island unless you see chip and dale in their swimsuits.
Serenity Bay is the adults only beach. If you have no kids with you or there off doing other things this is the most relaxing beach to be at. They serve lunch here and drinks as well. There are chairs and hammocks all ready out and sometimes it is worth it to just stay here the rest of the day. Somewhere on the island too they have a tasting.
On our way back to the ship to tackle the…
Aquaduck. This is the water slide on the ship. It is noramlly very busy but on the day where everyone is on the island is a great day to come back a little early and get at least one ride in. You sit in a inner tube raft and this slide goes over the side of the ship just for a second but it is really cool.
Enchanted Garden is another rotational dining resterurant. This one is very relaxing to me. It is on deck 2 and it decorated like a garden.
Day 8 – Debarkation Day
As they tell you on Disney Cruise Line – “We don’t say goodbye. Instead, we say “See ya real soon!””
Disney Cruising is a perfect vacation for everyone. We love it and go at least once a year. For future cruisers many people do decorate their cabin doors.
Always fun putting these up.
